Alan Owen has also done a study of this scene - very different to this one (I'm not sure if he still has his gallery on here, but if he has it would be interesting to compare the two). Wesson of course is one of Alan's great heroes. <br /><br />I like your clean washes and the fact that your shadows have retained transparency: I'm not sure I mind shadows that don't, but it's still good to see.

This is based on an old Edward Wesson picture, I found this very interesting to try and understand his technique and above learn from one of the great watercolour painters. Overall I was quite pleased with the result and hope to carry the learnings onto my own subjects
