Delicate with lovely shadows, Tony.

I shuld think you are pleased with this smashing piece Tony, keep at it.

Alan Owen has also done a study of this scene - very different to this one (I&#39;m not sure if he still has his gallery on here, but if he has it would be interesting to compare the two). Wesson of course is one of Alan&#39;s great heroes. <br /><br />I like your clean washes and the fact that your shadows have retained transparency: I&#39;m not sure I mind shadows that don&#39;t, but it&#39;s still good to see.

PS - He has! And his version of this scene is on the second page of his gallery, with a sketch of same on the first page.

This is based on an old Edward Wesson picture, I found this very interesting to try and understand his technique and above learn from one of the great watercolour painters. Overall I was quite pleased with the result and hope to carry the learnings onto my own subjects
