I like how you have represented the battlefield Tim.....how could you guess that beauty would once again come from the destruction. Nicely portrayed.

Thank you Fiona for your encouraging comments. Just had to express my feelings in a painting following a recent visit to the Somme.

Yes, I get that Tim, I would find it a very emotional visit......sadness, hopelessness, anger.....! I’ve visited a couple of the war memorials in Belgium and I couldn’t stop snivelling....lol But the peace at these places is overwhelming.

What a wonderful painting Tim. You have captured the destruction and regrowth so well. We WILL remember them.

Wonderful representation shows the devastation of war, makes us all wish that it really wasn't necessary.......
