A beautiful representation Thalia and the precise landmarks are done just right I'm sure they will love it

I’m sure the couple will be delighted with this. Your palette is very harmonious and the foreground shadows add a lovely depth to the painting. With the distant blue sea and sky giving a very, overall calming effect, there is nothing negative to comment upon. Great work Thalia. It can’t have been easy using such a large canvas but you have been well rewarded with the outcome.

I think it works a treat - it has a real sense of distance and lots of interest

Well it’s a super large piece Thalia, although not excessive in size for me. I like it all in the main, if I’d been painting the same scene I would probably have blurred out the sea horizon line a bit more, I’m sure you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

Superb vibrant colours and such a beautiful scene Thalia.

Thank you all so very much for these helpful comments, actually Alan, the line of the sea is very blurred, but the camera seems to have sharpened it. I spent a long time ensuring both edges were not sharp! Thanks for mentioning it though. Thank you Dennis, Carole, Heather, Alan and Carole. Great to have your approval!

Now I’ve enlarged a portion I can see it’s blurred Thalia, I do hate to see sharp edges to horizons, we’re on the same wavelength!

A really nice painting, and a spectacular view from your studio, I’m quite jealous of both the painting and the view.

A lovely lively painting Thalia and what a view! I really like the layers in the land and the shadows in the foreground.

Good sense of distance and interesting detail in the middle ground. Sure it will go down well.

I’m sure they will be thrilled Thalia. Lovely contour and shadow work.

I love the way you've rendered the clouds in this Thalia and it's a good painting. Strange that Alan has suggested blurring the horizon, as every photo that I have taken that includes sea meeting sky, there is a distinctly sharp edge between them.

Phew...thank you so much, Alan, for coming back on that ...so difficult when paint dryish to blur it, and I'd spent almost 2 hours trying to get it right!!! Thank you, Paul, yes I'm so very lucky here...visit me in Gozo!!! Thank you Tessa, the land is terraced to try to stop the precious top soil being eroded, thank you Stephen, Fiona, ahh haa! Thanks for that Frank, very interesting comment... I've looked at that horizon till my eyes hurt, literally! thank you very much Gudrun, certainly my body contortions were!!!

This is the largest painting I have ever painted, 100x150cm! A commissioned plein air from my studio window, for a lovely Maltese couple. Certain specific things had to be included, the rubble wall, and the oil lamps which are lit every weekend. All comments are very much appreciated, as the couple have yet to see and approve it. I've struggled with a lot of it, especially getting the distance to appear correct, as I couldn't stand away from it, in fact I couldn't move at all in my tiny studio!
