At first I was was struck by the odd angles, but that could just be the photograph. But even so this does have a certain charm about it

Lovely palette Thalia and I like your strong brushstrokes on the left.

Love the trees and foliage on the left, great job all round in fact.

I thought immediately yours! Truly charming!

Unusual topic for you Thalia, but well done nevertheless. "Carob trees" made me think of "The Guns of Navarone" That's the music I'm hearing for this. ..(-:

Ah Ha, Tony, no, not the photo, all those carob trees sit at that angle, one of our only indigenous tree species, they make an all-curing syrup from the seeds. Thanks, Carole, the deep shade of early light pein air is spectacular here. Thank you Alan, that's a huge compliment gratefully received, and from you, Yoko! Thank you Jim, I actually paint in this area a lot, especially in oils, as I can easily park near where I need my easel...poor old girl!!!

Love the trees Thalia, so characterful.

Beautiful colours, looks so warm and sunny - could do with some of that here!

Thank you so very much, Fiona and Emma...hmmm, so I hear! We've had our fair share of rain already here, too.

A commissioned oil for a dear friend we frequently meet on our Winter dog walking site, I started the painting plein air but finished it later in the studio. I wanted to capture the warm low early morning light thrusting through the dark green carob trees.
