I first encountered these birds when on holiday in Madeira. Twice a day one would come to the hotel with a handler to deter gulls and pigeons from swooping down and stealing your breakfast. The handler would send the bird for short flights then it was called back for a treat. Such beautiful birds. #harrishawk #hawk #birdpainting
