The Frozen Birdbath!

Comments

I’ve had to keep pouring warm water on ours - lovely drawing.

This is so lovely Tessa.

A grand little sketch Tessa, love the bird bath.

Many thanks Emma, Denise and Fiona. The bird bath was my last years birthday present from hubby but it’s the first time I’ve drawn it. Actually quite nice to draw.

You should have drawn this last year Tessa. I forgot about emptying the water for the cold snap, and our birthbath cracked...tried fixing it, no good, it now has plants in it.

Lovely sketch Tessa , my neighbours birdbath is a bird ice rink at the moment.

Oops Lew. Yes we had emptied it, then it bucketed down and has been full and frozen for a while! Thanks Lew and Dixie.

Subjects to draw and paint are everywhere! This is very charming Tessa, like the addition of a bit of colour.

It looks so sad all frozen up Tessa.

Super pencil sketch

Many thanks Marjorie, Carole, Heather and Spencer. Yes Carole it does look sad but I think it needs to thaw slowly in case it cracks so am leaving it for the moment!

A super sketch, like it a lot.

Thank you so much Valerie.

Ps. Ours is full of frozen water too. Fingers crossed!

Thank you a very much Jacqueline, Petra and Marjorie. Fingers crossed indeed! I put a smaller bowl of water out for the birds to drink from every day and we have been getting a nice variety of birds visiting.

A lovely sketch of a little scene outside your window! I'm looking at the sparrows on my bird feeder at this moment.

Cheers Hil! They are all eating like mad in the cold weather.

You just need to add some small birds wearing ice skates! Lovely little sketch.

Thanks Alix! I’m planning another version complete with birds once it thaws!

A pen and coloured pencil sketch of our bird feeder and bath in the back garden. A4 Daler Rowney drawing pad- as near as I’m likely to get to plein air til it warms up!
