Now that's what I call dedication to the arts Tessa well done.

A lovely piece of impasto, gestural work Tess.

Sorry should have been ‘Tessa’.

Thanks so much Chris and Carole, and I don’t mind Tess or Tessa! X

Well that looks fun...I used to do just that ,just take off with what're ever dog was around and drive into Snowdonia only an hour away and just paint. Nice one Tessa .

Very good Tessa.

Thank you Sylvia. How wonderful to be close to Snowdonia!

Thank you Denise.

Good one Tessa, how did you not get oil paint over everything? X

Thank you Katy, well I did! No actually not too bad. I’ve done it before and I take a small pochard box, an apron and a towel to cover the passenger seat! Not the best but fun. You just have to hope no one wants you to move quickly. 🤣 Actually the colours in this photo have one out a bit different. The browns were more of a purple colour.

A plain air painting! This is something I’ve never done… I like this study very much and you’re very brave to paint under such conditions Tessa 😉👍

Thank you Art. Plein air is something everyone should try! Or at least painting without photos which is what I’m trying to do with my daily project for January.

Like that brushwork!

Oils are tricky in a car! I admire your commitment here Tessa, nice job!

Considering you started it in your car you’ve done a very good job! Hope the paint didn’t go anywhere it shouldn’t!

Good for you Tessa! I was tempted by the sunshine to get out and paint but, the thick, crunchy frost changed my mind 🤔

Many thanks Fiona, Alan, Spencer and Heather. Appreciate your support.

Finally got a chance of a little plein air oil parked at the side of the road near Broadway in the Cotswolds. Too cold to set up outside the car! All a bit tricky painting in the car but I enjoyed it and did a little more when I got home. Took about two hours altogether.

About the Artist
Tessa Gwynne

I have returned to painting over the last few years having relocated from Cardiff to the Cotswolds in 2009 and joined the Guiting Power Art Group. Although I did a year's Foundation Course at art college after leaving school, I hadn’t painted much in the interim, except for a few attempts here and…
