Delightful still-life with candle Tessa! The textures have turned out realistically and lovely bold reds and lemons, very nice indeed!

Thank you Angela. 👍🏻

Beautifully painted Tessa , love the textures.

I think it's worked out really well and I very much like the colour palette

This looks great Tessa.

A lovely still life painting. Super textures and colours.

That's rather nice Tessa. Love still life's and this is a goody. Was this your breakfast?

Thanks so much Dixie, Heather, Denise and Spencer. It was fun to get back into a spot of painting after the Christmas break, and didn’t do much in the few weeks before that! x

Nicely done indeed Tessa.

Many thanks Chris.

Thanks so much Sylvia. Breakfast? Nah, the lemon and lime were bought specially for this! So they may well pop up in another painting before long. 🤣

Very nicely done Tessa 🙂

I adore your efforts in this nice oil study Tessa. I like the visible heavy brush strokes and your talent involved in here 👍 Art.

Lovely vigorous work Tessa. I like seeing the brush marks.

Lovely colours and textures Tessa. I like the way that some items are wandering off the canvas, a more interesting composition. Hopefully more to come.

Love this Tessa! I’m going to try and do something each day too.

Many thanks Stephen.

Thank you Art and Lew. Always appreciate your encouragement.

Thank you Sandra. Glad you like the wandering items!

Thanks a lot Marjorie, hope we can keep it going! My initial idea was to do a painting every day. I was re reading the book I think you suggested a while ago by Carol Marine, of Daily Painting. So not too much detail, but that’s easier said than done once you get going!

Many thanks Russell.

Thank you Coral!

Decided to try to do a small painting a day for January. This took two but at least I did start on the 1st! I was impressed by Adam Ralstons article on still life in the Artist magazine. Mine is nowhere near what he does but it gave me ideas to try, including letting some items wander off the canvas and not just sit prettily arranged in the centre! More to come hopefully. 8 x10” oil.

Although I did a year's Foundation Course at art college after leaving school, I hadn’t painted much in the interim, except for a few attempts here and…
