Late, but nevertheless very good Tessa. Nice work.

I think this has worked very well Tessa - has a nice feel to it and nicely impressionistic.

This is very, very beautiful and colourful, Tessa. Love it!

This looks lovely, Tessa - beautiful colours.

Oooo like this version Tessa, it oozes confidence, great brush strokes, its a winner in my book !!!

Thank you indeed Jim, Maureen, Mia, Margaret and Linda, for all your generous comments!

Lovely colours and textures Tessa, really like it a lot.

Nice loose style with lovely harmony Tessa.....

This is brilliant Tessa! Beautifully done.

Beautiful work, Tessa.

Thank you all, Sandra, Michael, Carole, and Cesare. What lovely comments, I’m really pleased! I bought a selection of Jackson’s handmade small boards to try some slightly different surfaces, and this is the first I’ve tried. It’s the linen and I’ve left some of the base colour showing through. It was a nice surface to use, and more pleasing than what I normally use with a few coats of gesso, which seem to absorb the paint too much. I also used more mixing medium which helped with the looseness.

Your cabin is lovely, the light on it is beautiful.

It’s lovely Tessa.. really nice work 👍🏻

Lovely colours and feeling of clear winter sunlight, Tessa.

Many thanks Jennifer, Rachel and Jennie. Much appreciated!

Beautifully done, with a fabulous palette and wonderful atmosphere. Love the brushwork.

Woohoo! What a smasher Tessa....I was toying with the idea of trying the challenge in oils, I definitely will after seeing your example, changes the scene completely. Love how you have handled the trees, a part of the original picture that I struggled with in my own attempt in ink.

Cheers Fiona. Your challenge awaits! I would love to see more oil versions on POL, but it’s intriguing how different versions of this scene compare. I guess that’s what the idea is! Thanks for your encouraging comments.

Well I’ve been following this on the Forum but haven’t quite felt confident enough to dip my toe in yet, but thought I’d try my new Christmas Rosemary brushes for this one, and very lovely they are too! This is in water soluble oils painted quite loosely on board approx 8x10”. Comments welcome!
