Thank you Russell, that was mighty quick!

I would be very pleased if I was you Tessa, this is lovely and those long grasses work very well

Excellent Tessa! Love the way the long grasses lead you up to the Heron’s, no discernible details but so effective. It looks classical.

I like the way you've composed this, with grassy area leading our eyes to the herons.

I love the long format and the composition works very well, with those graceful herons looking on Tessa.

Very nicely done Tessa .

Very much like the composition, with the long grasses in the foreground.

Many thanks Heather, Fiona, Lewis, Carole, Stephen and Hilary. I really am grateful and appreciate your encouragement. 🙏

Thanks so much Fiona.

I think you have achieved your aim Tessa. Nice composition 😊

Thanks very much Art.

Delightful Tessa.

Thanks so much Denise.

Thanks Spencer, always appreciate your kind words.

Lovely, Tessa, evocative!

A super piece Tessa, I do like the long foreground leading you up to the main characters!

Those grasses just show off this painting so well!!

Well balanced composition and palette. Appealing

Lovely colours and composition Tessa.

Thanks so much Sarah, Thalia, Alan, David, Coral, Martin and Carole! Your comments and encouragement mean a lot. I seem to have got slower producing work these days, partly due to an achy shoulder on my painting arm which makes everything literally a bit of a pain. So it’s not that I’m not painting, just taking longer!

A very well composed piece, with lovely brushwork that so effectively leads the eye to the herons. Beautiful work, Tessa!

Many thanks Seok? I’m trying to work out another one.

Lovely blend of colours, Tessa, and the bird sculptures are an interesting focal point.

Great composition and colours Tessa.

Thanks very much Shaun and Jenny.

Sculpture, not the real thing! These two are set over a walled pond in the lovely gardens of Bourton House at Bourton on the Hill, Gloucestershire, which we visited a few months ago. 14x10” oil on canvas board. Reasonably pleased with the result. I wanted the main focus of the painting to be away from the centre and I like the expanse of long grasses in the foreground.

Although I did a year's Foundation Course at art college after leaving school, I hadn’t painted much in the interim, except for a few attempts here and…
