Gone Fishing (Bourton on the Water) by Tessa Gwynne

Comments

Like the loose way you have painted the trees and river Tessa. The fisherman looks as if he is about to fall in the river. Great reflections and a lovely palette.

This is wonderful, hope it goes to a good home.

I know the scene really well Tessa and this is a great painting of it. I’m sure it will be snapped up.

Beautiful ☺

Many thanks Carole, Dixie, Denise and Faye for your lovely comments. Carole you are right, he was balancing right on the edge. Most of the kids end up in the river! Fortunately it’s only shallow. 🤣

There’s something very tranquil about this scene. I find looking around it very relaxing.

Thank you so much Diana, I appreciate that.

Lovely scene Tessa, I like dark shadowy tree, great contrast. Good luck with the exhibition.

Many thanks Carole.

Lovely trees and water

Like this a lot Tessa, best of luck with the sale

Thank you so much Romila and Heather. Much appreciated.

Looks like our local park Tessa, excellent job!

We were there last year. You have caught it well.

I agree with others of the laid back and relaxed feel to your painting Tessa. The palette and subject I think gives that sense of lazy Sundays. Good luck with the exhibition!

Thank you very much Alan, Fred and Fiona . Glad you like it.

A small oil started in art group on Thursday and just finished (probably!). I used a photo of my own taken sometime last year. Some of our group are having a studio sale in the village next Thursday and I wanted to take a local scene, though it will probably still be sticky!
