Roath Park Lake - Captain Scott Memorial. by Tessa Gwynne
An A4 acrylic on watercolour paper of one of my favourite places. Roath Park lake and gardens are a beautiful area well worth visiting. The lighthouse is a memorial to Captain Scott and his team who sailed from Cardiff to locate the South Pole in 1910 and never returned. A plaque on the lighthouse reads “Britons all, and very gallant gentlemen “.
