It's glorious...I'm sure she will look at it on her wall every day once her big day arrives. It's so full of colour, it will guarantee her a happy birthday.

Thank you Ruth.

Lucky girl ..... It is charming and beautiful !

what a beautiful gift, I'm sure she is just going to simply love it, its a wonderful painting.

What a lovely present, it is very well painted we are sure she will love it like we do.

Nice piece of work Sylvia. I love the colours and the vibrancy of the big poppies. I am sure your friend will have been delighted with her present. Good to see you exploit the possibilities of MDF. It's a bit heavy, but it's great for preparatory works, and of course with acrylic... well, they mix like ducks and water. No real need for anything else unless you want to cover with canvas, or primed paper. Do you ever cover your MDF with canvas? If I want a more permanent piece of work, it's the best of both worlds. Canvas to paint on, and nothing to go slack; no need for re-stretching! Finally, thank you so much for your comments on my work. It's appreciated. Regards John

Thank you every one...must admit I shall be a bit sorry to see this go. But I can always go and take a look when I want to do so. Paintings become like off spring, only they dont answer back! !No John I have never added canvas to M D F but I can see good reasons to do so. I do like the ridgity of MDF Lovely to work on and yes the canvas will give a lovely texture.

Love this bright flower painting Sylvia, stunning colours

This has hung in my hall forever. It is acrylic on MDF and is about one metre square. My lovely girlfriend is having a very big birthday (70) but you didnt hear it from me. She has asked me to leave this painting to her in my will!!!!!. So I decided that she would enjoy it more if she got it a bit earlier for her birthday. So before it is wrapped up (in a few weeks time) and a big ribbon put on it, here it is. .
