And it's super Sylvia, it has a loose slightly abstract feel which makes it stand out from the usual depiction of a bluebell wood.

Agree that painting the familiar can be helpful - just posted a landscape which i did for this very reason when I had some moments to spare. Familiar or not this works so well and nice balance to the composition.

Lovely, Sylvia. Are the bluebells out in your neck of the, ahem, woods yet? I'm hoping to drag daughter (7) and husband (older) out to see a bit later today.

Not really Amanda, this is from my memory... Some are out but no big shows. Though as we are in N Wales maybe yours will be further out.

Wonderfully zingy blues and a lovely scene. I agree with returning to what you are comfortable with when you have a few down days - I do exactly that. This one should get you back on track as it is really successful and delightful.

Our walk was pleasant but only a few bluebells out in N. Hampshire. Good. Painting expedition penciled in for second week of term, during school hours :-)
