Wonderful feeling to the painting ;)

Simple, evocative, lovely painting. Looking through your gallery, I like your palette and your skies are beautiful and soft'

Nicely painted, a hint of Vetriano maybe?

Fred thank you...I have only seen one Vettriano before..the one most others have seen. I suppose a comparison is very flattering and thank you. The truth of this painting however stems from a love of romantic and sea...and is a probably more to do with me spreading my wings as an artist and exploring new techniques as I go along. Pleased you liked it.

Well, this one prompted some interesting comments, Stephen! I love your style as you know, and the colours you use and this one certainly pushes the emotional buttons, which is what you wanted, I'm sure. Personally this one is a bit sad for me, although I like the way you've painted it - perhaps the next one could be the reunion... on one of the beautiful Norfolk beaches on sunny day... Look forward to seeing your next work on this site.

Thanks Jane, cant please everyone..lol...as I said this is a journey for me...each time I am not sure where it will take me,and of course commercially I also have to earn a crust.:o)

Superb in every detail, Stephen.

I just love it Stephen, pure, simple shapes and beautiful colours. Follow your road !

I love this, so much better than Vettriano! Bit more like a Monet with the romantic colours and the beautiful way you have blended them. Beautiful!!

Stephen, I didn't realise you'd only been painting for 18 months, I would also have assumed from your work that you were a very experienced painter. I like Vettriano's work, the early ones on Leven beach ( how wise he was to leave out Methil power station which does rather dominate that beach) and I also like yours but cannot see any similarity other than they are both beaches + romantic subject. Your styles are totally different. I don't object to a bit of romance or the hint of a story. This is a good painting in an excellent gallery, you should be proud of it

I just didn't realise you had only been painting for eighteen months! The style and assurance you have is superb, and I really love your work.

Thanks Jenny, Its oils I have only been doing for 18months, I painted very stiff watercpolour and pastel before..although not in any way as much as I do since going solo this year. xx

Thank you Fred, thats in oil not painting itself..thats why its such a learning curve.
