Another beautifully executed painting, Stephen, with the brush strokes themselves lending to the atmospheric nature of the picture. Re your question about my Wider View, I think I was inspired to paint it after seeing your River Blyth on the Sold Works on your web site. It may have been a combination of a couple of your paintings. I did say it was "based on" and is obviously not a copy of any one your works. A bit unsatisfactory, I'm afraid! I hope you don't mind my attempting to paint in your style!

Lionel thank you for the lovely comment. I am quite happy to for you to do that as you asked. However Michael has since painted a similar version and as a Professional Artist I have to be careful re copyright and I just feel that it is taking it a little too far in terms of style and content.I hope you understand. I wiil leave a little note on Michaels work.

This works well, Stephen, with the river taking us to the distant building and masts, good sky too.

Beautiful painting Stephen, as the rest of your gallery

As so often in your work, the calligraphic touches add life and movement - and you don't overdo them, and thus kill the effect (which is the great danger).
