Blue - 10 weeks' work

I like it very much Sian, especially the sun bursts.

Lino cutting is fun as you said Sian and this is a good example of a lovely result that you can achieve. Beautiful blue and the yellows in the photo look like gold.

Sian, I'm curious to know what reduction Lino cutting is? I like this very much. It has a 1930's feel yet also it's contemporary.

Thank you, Caroline. A reduction lino-cut is where you reduce the same sheet of lino each time you add a colour. (instead of having a separate sheet of lino for each colour) For this one I cut out the white lines then printed it pale yellow. Next I cut away the bits I wanted to remain pale yellow and overprinted in strong yellow yellow. Then cut more away and did a final print in blue. All printed by just rubbing by hand, no press.
