Story of life for us all Seamas, and mainly vanity. Mirror's don't lie, but he looks well enough a character to me. In my experience, women tend to see a bit beyond wavy hair, gym bodies and glib tongues. A smile helps..(-: .

@Jim Morris: Haha! If very my dad is doing online dating I'll tell him to use this as his profile picture then 🤣

Skilfully done - do I see the signs of professional training in the combination of hatching and dark tone? So your father might not appreciate this one, then....? At least you didn't do to him what I did to mine: for his 75th birthday, I drew a very, very old chimp, entitling it 'You Look As Good Today As You Always Did'. My uncle, his younger brother, was much amused, anyway.

Haha. Thanks Robert. I had a little bit of academic training. But I never attended an atelier. However I have a number of friends who did, and I have learned more from them than anyone else. I hope the chimp is among your artwork here!!

A very honest drawing of your dad. I'm sure he secretly likes it. It's a beautifully drawn piece of work done with a lot of love .

Thanks Sylvia. He likes it, but it goes against his own kind aesthetics. He likes to emphasise the pleasing features of his portraits and kind of soften the finger prints of age and wear. He is also an artist, and my first teacher haha.

He taught you well.

A small portrait of my father, Graphite on Bristol board. I wanted to draw him without censoring the how weathered and worn his portrait has become. I have my own reasons for this.
