Nice work as always Michael, just love your attention to detail.

Amazing painting .

Stunning Michael.

beautifully done, Michael

This painting brings back many memories for me as I worked on the "Double Mamba" engines during 35 years service with Armstrong Siddely, and later it became part of Rolls Royce areo division. Thank you for a superb painting and some long forgotten memories.. Lets see more please.

I just love airplane paintings and I just love this one...

Thanks for your encouraging comments everyone. I went to the East Midlands Air Museum as part of the research for this painting, they have a Double Mamba on display Norman, but its still a mystery to me how it works!! I thinking of another version of the Gannet for next year's GAvA exhibition.

Great job Michael, captured the sweep of them contract rotating props perfectly.

Great action picture of the Gannet on the catapult. It captures the conditions under which we worked in those days! I was the Flight Deck Crash Officer in Ark Royal 1964 to 1966. Exciting days!

This image shows a Fairey Gannet AEW on a wet and windy flight deck in the 1960s. It was selected by the Guild of Aviation Artists for inclusion in their Summer 2012 exhibition in the Mall Galleries. I have posted an stage by stage description of this painting on my website at: www.michaelthepainter.co.uk
