I cant hear the, plunk and clonk, as the waves collide between crags and the rush of the sea as it hurtles and tumbles to the shore. A lively and dramatic scene, and obvious why it was chosen. It certainly has vigour. Smashing work.

Should have read - can hear..:)

Thanks for your post CA and glad that you have your hearing back. You might be interested to know that the painting won "Best in Show" at the IEA exhibition last week

Gorgeous movement of the water, I can 'hear' the waves!

It is brilliant.

You have captured everything about seawater in this painting - the foam, waves, colours. No wonder it got 'best in show' Michael! It is a lovely artwork.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on this painting. So glad you enjoy it. I'll be taking it down in the next few days. I have made a number of alterations to it since the longer I looked at it the more I saw things that should be corrected. I'll put the new image up asap

This is superb and congratulations. You've certainly captured the movement and ferocity of the sea.

Thanks Jillie, very good to read your comments. I've just posted the amended version if you wish to compare the two

Completed last week for the Open Exhibition of the Institute of East Anglian Painters. Happy to say it was select! This depicts a scene on the North Devon coast and is taken from sketches and photographs I took at the time (2016) I've painted this before but thought previous attempts lack a certain rigour and attention to detail. I am much more content with this. Hope you like it. I'm delighted to add that it was awarded "Best in Show"!
