River Trent, February by Sarah Crouch

Trent monoprint

Like this Sarah it has quite and atmospheric look to it . Does the paper have a rough texture or is it just the effect of the oils .

Thanks a lot Paul! Think it's a bit of both, the paper us a heavy weight cartridge paper (200 gsm) but described as fine grain. The oil painting i mix with some stuff that makes it suitable for printing (will check the proper name asap) but it's still uneven so there is a mixed coverage. Hope that makes sense!!)

Really good, Sarah - you have captured the river and chilly weather so well!

Lovely work Sarah…great trees.

The colours are really good, nicely painted.

Yes, very muddy and wet and this lovely painting sums it up!

Very effective - you have caught the mood of the consequences of this awful weather so well!

Thank you Anne, Alan, Stephen, Heather, David, Carole, Spencer, Maureen and Valerie. The medium I was trying to remember is Schmincke print medium.

Such a wintry feel to this Sarah and I can imagine walking through here very well wrapped up. Love those trees.

Excellent monoprint Sarah, my favourite so far. The palette and texture has produced the weather conditions you described perfectly.

Thank you very much Carole, Romila and Fiona.

A very effective print Sarah.

I've had more than a few wet, muddy and cold walks along the Trent this winter! Monoprint using leftover oils on paper 6 x 4 inches.
