Might try the techniques when I get the wind

Extraordinary result Satu. All the leaves blowing about and the larger leaf hitting the ground. Also, I love your choice of colour. I tried a very similar tree today and failed dismally. Mine evolved into a bunch of flowers before hitting the bin! Did you use a straw?

Thank you Dennis and Louise! Yes, I did use a plastic tube which is shorter and thicker than a straw and seems to do the trick. I might try flowers now that you mentioned them!

Ah, a plastic tube..we'll be rummaging round the garage tomorrow, must be one somewhere!!

Another good splatter

That's a great autumnal looking tree Satu! Was the splatter at the bottom intended to be a bird, that's what it looks like to me? They are fun to do aren't they, I can't wait to have another go but no access to my paints here, I might have to try an iPad splatter.

Fabulous splatter painting, love the birdie.

Clean and fresh; it looks fun !

Just had a thought, those plastic tubes that cover the end of a new paintbrush would be ideal for blowing technique.

Thank you all for your kind comments! Yes, the spatter at the bottom is a bird but could as well be a fallen leaf! These are fun and very quick to do. Carole, any plastic tube or a straw will do.

Looks like you had a bit of fun doing this one Satu, and why not painting should be fun . I like it well done you tackle anything and i like that as well .

It'll be one of those rare leaf birds!

My eye went straight to this painting when I opened the gallery pages as these loose interpretations do have real charisma. The blowing and spattering method does lend itself to trees really well, doesn't it. I haven't tried one as yet but must have a go. What a lovely loose Autumn tree this has produced - isn't it lovely the way the colours merge to form a third colour and the best bit is that you have less control over what is happening so no chance of fiddling and fussing - you just go for it!

So effective, they have a life of their own! Excellent Satu.

Thank you Dennis and Thea! This method is fun because like the one liners , you never know what is going to happen and I like that.<br />Louise, you made me laugh aloud with your leafbird!

Well, they are quite rare.

I painted some leafbirds for you Satu. (Posted a couple of days ago on page 5 or thereabouts !)
