First go at a portrait in pastels and as usual my imagination has got the better of me! Hadn't used pastels in years and had forgotten what a joy they are to use. Painted with Unison soft pastels on Clairfontaine Pastel Mat support - great surface to work on. Reference photo provided by the wonderful website PaintMyPhoto.
