Charcoal study of a face

Comments

Well Romila, in my book tone is more important than colour, and you’ve got some good tones blocked in - nicely drawn.

Romila this is excellent, such a characterful portrait.

Great use of tonal values and a super portrait Romila.

No need for colour. Tone describes the form. Love the hair!

Lovely tones and stippled texture too, its formed really well especially the cheekbones and linear for his eyes and captured gaze, fabulous charcoal drawing exposing the light areas too!

Thank you so much everyone

Excellent Romila.

You have done it well, charcoal is a media difficult to grasp.

Splendid work. An imposing intense gaze, very well drawn.

Lovely textures in this

Well done Romila. I find a quite compelling tension drawn into the face which is hard to ignore. Nice use of charcoal.

This is a fantastic portrait, Romila. Every part is done perfectly, especially the hair and the eyes!

Excellent drawing Romila.

Great drawing Romila, you have captured him well.

Thank you so much everyone 🙏🙏

You have a gift for charcoal! Lovely study! 🙏

I think this is excellent Romila!

I always find the mouth the most difficult feature. You’ve done a great job.

Oh I love this Romilla exceptional quality

Another willow charcoal study of a face. So much more difficult than with colours. Any advice and comments very much appreciated. Thanks 🙏
