Thrills and Spills

Yes Robert, great memories. We used to shoot down steep hills, and round blind corners as though there was no possibility that a car could be coming. Mostly there wasn't...as you say, very little traffic back then. Good lively full of fun sketch.

Great memories here.

Funny how traditions (?) like this carry forward, I was a kid in the sixties and I remember helping build these carts. Because I was a girl, I was only ever trusted to be a pillion....lol. Came a cropper a time or two. Great sketch and fond memories Robert.

Thanks Lew, Heather and Fiona, They were great times when kids could be kids and the only scary thing was the loacal bobby chasing you off :-0

Lol....yes you’re right there, soon behaved if Bobby Peppers name was mentioned!

Great sketching brink with many great memories, still have the scars from a few spills, known a bogies in Yorkshire. Lots of competition for the best and fastest one. Thank you for the nostalgia trip Robert.

Thanks Fiona and Paul

My drawing was getting scrappy so a few months ago I decided to put aside at least one hour a day for it, difficult but I've managed to keep to it. This drawing is a childhood memory of around the late forties/early fifties when us kids used to make pram wheel carts out of odds and ends and race each other down the local hill much to the annoyance of the locals! Many sore knees, elbows, and cuts, that we survived was solely due to there being very little traffic in those post war days.
