Lovely old tree with a fantastic face in the middle! Beautifully painted too Robert!

Thank you Satu, the face is quite extraordinary and quite visible and though its on a well worn country path I have yet to see anyone stop and look at it?

This caught my eye immediately, I really like it.what a fantastic tree, and since I have been working on a painting of beech this week I have been out studying them extra closely...and had come to the conclusion that there is something incredibly human about their limbs! I think you have also painted the background trees really well. You have really captured the freshness in the foliage. Very striking composition!

Thank you for your kind comments Julie, I agree with you about beech trees there is something very special almost other worldly about them. Good luck with your painting will look forward to seeing it on the gallery?

Old Sleepy Oil on board 30x40 cm. Believe it or not this is a totally faithful representation of a lovely old Pembrokeshire Beech tree that I frequently walk past, its so unusual I couldn't resist painting it.
