1913 rush to build the Warspite

The famous warship The Warspite nearing completion in 1913 as war loomed, it was said that wherever there was action there the Warspite could be found, she saw action in the first and second world wars then worn out the "grand old lady" was scrapped in 1947, on the way to the scrapyard she tore loose from her tow and ran aground in one last act of defiance. The painting was completed with reference to some old faded black and white photo's found in my late father in laws effects. Oil on canvas 20x16 inch
