Great humanity even humility in his eyes. I love these kind of portraits. As Leonardo said capturing the outer appearance of someone is easy, the inner thoughts of that person very hard. He was right. You have achieved that. I detect a nice memory might even be a memory bitter sweet but I see a whole world within.
