This is wonderful Stephen. If you don’t mind me saying I think it would benefit greatly if the footsteps in the snow were higher, so that the foreground could be cropped.

Wow, Stephen, this is super. For me, the footsteps in the foreground do lead the viewer into the scene. That is my opinion.

Yes, I hesitate to disagree with our colleague, but I wouldn't crop this: I think it's very successful, reminding me a (very) little of a Caspar David Friedrich painting of an Abbey through the trees, which I last saw adorning the cover of Hesse's 'Narziss und Goldmund': it's those brooding, dark trees that do it.
