Castlerigg Stone Circle

So beautiful!! The colours of the fells and formation of the stones are wonderful. I’m Cumbrian by blood and have such love of the place. Thank you for this glimpse

Your usual excellence, Stephen. A really interesting subject too. These stone circles have a unique fascination. Never visited this one, but have seen a few, like Avebury...all are mesmerising.

Thank you Lewis, this stone circle is sited above Keswick in a very dramatic position. Well worth a visit. The stones seem to line up with the surrounding mountains which provides much food for thought. Who built it and why?

So evocative of the colours and sights of the Lake District. Like Diana I’m a Cumbrian lass, now living elsewhere, and miss those splendid views of the fells.
