And Beyond Lies the Sea

Beautiful; I love the title too! Reminds me of when I was a child and we'd compete to see" who'd see the sea first" as we drove to Highcliff.

Gritty, textural and in your face! great painting.

Beautiful spring painting.

I found the rat, Robert. Great painting this is. Good to see that your eye sight is ok now.

Like it - amazing detail

Yes Robert it reminds me of the cliff edge near Dunwich in Suffolk, I like the vigorous feel it has well done.

An enticing promise Robert. Beautiful Spring light in this.

A superb painting Robert

Lovely painting - full of vigour and life. Believable daffs too!

This is super Robert, and not a 'brown' tree in sight! Nice to see you are back in the swing of things with your eyesight.

Unusual and interesting positioning of the featured trees, Robert. And I love the old gnarled bark and subtlety of the daffodils . The palette is particularly attractive too.......in fact for me, this is one of your best!

An excellent piece, with a superb composition, wonderful textures and loads of vibrancy.

This, to be honest, started out being one thing but turned into another - what I'd intended to paint just didn't seem to want to come together at all, so I let the painting do what it obviously wanted to do. I wonder whether this was the Ampersand board I used that dictated a different approach, or just that my original idea was boring and the subconscious mind was telling me so and urging me elsewhere... Anyway, enough of this cod philosophizing! Many thanks for all comments.

This is a very dynamic painting! It creates interest- What is behind the trees? I've painted on the IOW and it a great scenery, just like you painted it. I will definitely come back!

Stunning work. A lot of emotion went into this work. When I look into the work, I see the finery of life that comes with lots of trials and tribulations. Darkness and Light and then beyond that you find the sea, though it may be beautiful, it also offers its trials and tribulations in life. I love this Robert
