(It is, the eagle-eyed will observe, a steal from a previous painting - just translated from oil to watercolour..)

Oh ah, and just two colours used. Guess which?

Burnt sienna and ultramarine? Beautiful card, Robert, like the idea of a boozy one and then a more sober one! This one won't offend your maiden aunt (if you have one!). We've had a good year on POL, haven't we - some highs and some not so highs, but it has always been fun and I thank you for your eternally witty and wise contributions. Have a great Christmas!

Indeed, Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine. None of my aunts were maiden - some of the great aunts were, but they're in no condition to be offended now. Yes, it's been an eventful year - one which I have managed to end by deleting a whole portfolio, which was clever.....

I like the 'spontaneous looking' trees, good card Robert but where is Mr Ratty?

Too cold there for the rat - anyway, foxes and rats don't always get on...........

Another brilliant card!

Great card !!

I notice Carole had the same thought as I did.... where's the rat? Have a lovely Christmas :)

Super card, Robert! A very merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

Robert, I am not ignoring work at the moment. It is just that my brother died last Monday and it has been a dreadful shock and I don't feel up to commenting on POL at the moment. Just didn't want you to think I was being churlish.

I've actually done two Christmas cards this year - one the boozy Bishop, for my irreligious acquaintances, and the other this one of a fox seeking a tasty festive snack, for those whom my sozzled Victorian clergyman might offend. And of course - POL deserves both!
