I think this has worked really well Val - I love the russet colours and the snowdrops poking through as a sign of hope for warmer days... eye catching and effective.

Composition and pallette are superb with such a great result Val - love it.

I agree with the comments above, great colours, a lovely painting

Lovely painting Val, great composition and colours

Like it Val,the composition and colours work well and are very effective using so many mediums within one painting works for me, a really nice piece.

Don't be disappointed Val it's a lovely painting. I like the really deep background wash, it shows the copper leaves up. The snowdrops are a great touch....a touch of sunshine bursting through the dark and decay of winter!

I love this flower. A super composition and I think the leaves are particularly effective, always a pleasure to view your work :)

This is so special, Val. I agree with everything the above said: super.

Keep throwing everything you've got at the paper Val - it works really well!!!

Thanks everyone for leaving such lovely comments.

Keep throwing, Val! This is really stunning! I love the lines, the colors, the composition. EVERYTHING!

A breath of Spring! Lovely shapes and colours to your leaves Val. Good one.

Just like to thank you Val for your very kind comments on my last piece and say that it was also such a nice surprise meeting you at the gallery and exhibition on Saturday. I am sure that after viewing many of your works in watercolour and pastel paintings that you will surely have some sales to look forward too. I liked them all very much.

I really like this painting Val, such lovely colours.

Thank you so much Seok, Carole and Denise. Graham, what a lovely thing to say, thank you, I hope we both have lots of sales at Neil's gallery.

Thought I'd try a bit of mixed media but it didn't turn out quite as I hoped it would. Threw everything I had at it, watercolour, ink , watercolour pencils, inktense pencils, pen, the only thing I didn't use was my pastels. Might have another go at it though. Thanks for looking.
