Looks great even without the people.

Nice scene, Val. Lovely painting.

What a lovely painting Val, super watercolour.

That's really well painted Val, great perspective and the lamp you've placed in front doesn't distract at all from the rest of the work, 😀

What a cracker Val, love the composition and the juicy darks.

Excellent watercolor Val. I like your description "unrestricted by formal teaching." You've got that right! Most self-taught and leisure painters are like that, at least, I'm. It's so great to be free and unrestricted and just enjoy the art making without the obligation of being, what I call and Artist with a capital "A". Your work is great!

Super painting, Val. I reckon the people would have made a beautiful scene too busy, it's lovely as it is.

What a really nice bunch of artists you all are, thank you Tony, Seth, Margaret, Linda, Fiona and Jola.

Thank you Thalia for your lovely comment, we must have been posting at the same time.

I agree, great painting, the people are no loss!

Val, the thing that attracts me to this is your palette. Lovely subtle colours which convey a quiet atmosphere to the scene.

What a lovely painting Val! Beautiful colours, fantastic light and a super composition. One of my favourite towns too.

Tony, Marjorie and Satu thank you so much for taking the time to leave your lovely comments.

A striking painting very well done Val.

Watercolour. I don't normally paint buildings but a photograph taken by a friend of mine inspired to attempt this. Unfortunately I wasn't brave enough to include the crowds of people in the scene as well. Thanks for looking.
