I think I infinitely prefer the background of your final painting, Val. It's a humorous and lighthearted piece, and the lighter background adds to the feel-good factor of the whole. I thought it was a lovely and very apt choice. The final result is really super!

I like the finished painting, Val, it is an affectionate and gentle painting - but I like this as a sort of abstract in its own right.

I agree with Jenny. The other one is beautiful, but this has a different impact; vaguely surreal and abstract, but it still captures the interplay between the horses very well. For me this has more impact, but that is my taste!

Many thanks Seok, Jenny and Gudrun, your thoughts on these two paintings are very interesting and I appreciate them very much.

I think you made the right choice with your final background Val, but as others have already remarked, this stands out on it's own as a great sketch! It has a supernatural feel to it, like it!

Thanks Fiona.
