Val this is just excellent. You have captured his tiredness so well. Those eyes he's had enough. The fur everything about this is so very good. Lovely foreground. This is what a photo cannot do!! Thank you for your comment on my garden pot. Always very much appreciated.

Lovely Val, the expression in his eyes says it all. The texture of fur is revealed very well.

The expression in his eyes says it all - great painting

Hi Val. A brilliant detailed work...sort of remember that slightly devious dog look...sort of hiding/emerging from the heather...you can't see me..I like it.

Thank you one and all for your kind comments. Just had Sam here for the weekend creating havoc with my two dogs so I was able to check for accuracy !! ( he's very good at putting on a pained expression.) Rachael had them all out for long walks in the pouring rain. Result....soggy dogs, smelly house..........

Just browsing your gallery before starting the day! I love this - he looks so fed up! Beautifully painted textures and colours.Well done.

Thank you Avril, your comment is very much appreciated coming from such an accomplished artist as yourself.

great painting, the fur, the heather and of course that expression is priceless...bravo

On holiday on Barra, tired after a long walk on a hot day he decided to make himself a bed in the heather and refused to go a step further until he'd had his forty winks.
