Thank you Rhian, Ruth and Beatrice for your lovely comments. I did three versions of this, pastel, acrylic with a knife and a watercolour one which I have just realised is in my watercolour portfolio. Yes Beatrice I have carried on using pastels, I love them, apart from the dust of course. I always end up looking like I've been down a multi-coloured coal mine !!!

Soft Pastel. Just found this one I did a few years ago when I first tried pastels. An attempt at trying to make it slightly abstract also. I have since learned that you don't need to use plain black to achieve really dark colours !!
