I never seem to produce great paintings when doing demonstrations (pressure of having to talk through what you are doing which dilutes concentration, the audience watching every move, unnatural painting position etc) so I really applaud you for this superb portrait.

Colour is so important to my work. And it can change with every portrait and every lamp or spot-light that you use. Even down to the weather outside, the time of day or what the sitter is wearing. Every portrait is a challenge.
