Great portrait with distinctive Van Gogh background. Until we visited the Van Gogh museum this summer I didn’t realise the involvement of his brother.

Superb work, John. An absolute cracker, painted very much in the Van Gogh style. What a pleasure to see such work.

Excellent portrait and sentiment John.

This is a super portrait, John.

Love it John!

Excellent, John. Colour palette spot on too.

Thank you Christine, Lewis, Tessa, Jenny, Heather, Anne-Marie, and Marjorie. You judgement has been appreciated.

A great tribute to his brother John, a grand portrait.

More fool the judges John, what do they know anyhow?

Truly excellent concept and execution John. Nice work.

I think this is brilliant John, love it !!!

Thank you Carole, Russell, Jim and Linda, very much appreciated.

Theo was a big influence in his life. It’s worked really well John.

Brilliant. I read the book, ''Lust for Life'' while on national service in Malaya in 1956 and it inspired me to take up painting.

Absolutely first class John.

Love this Van Gogh style John. Fantastic portrait. You were thinking outside the box. The judges were not!

This is fantastic John and makes me appreciate Van Gogh even more!

Oil on canvas, size 16x12 inches. Painted this for the Loving Vincent competition. Theo does not fetcher much when Vincent comes up. However without his brother there would have not been the artist we know. However the judges did not agree, or catch on with my idea. lol.
