Lovely picture, John. Love all those tones on the beach, the gentle marks of the boats, the exciting foliage, the whole thing is really clever.

Can see by the land slope that it is a steep shore John, I love that realistic water line. In fact I like everything about it, a favourite in all your work! Oh and like the new pic!

Yes missed the new pic of the very distinguished gentleman

I've painted Freshwater Bay many times John, it's one of my favourite spots on the island. You have some really great textures and depth in this one.

Very fine, John. Packed with atmosphere.

Well done for choosing a spot well away from the usual, now rather over-familiar, view of Freshwater Bay (my birthplace, incidentally: I sang in the church choir there - I say 'sang' - angelic I was to look upon; less so if you heard me). Is this a spot near Fort Victoria?

Lovely strong tones and texture in this super work John.

Lovely pastel work John. I like this very much.

Gorgeous strong tones and distinguishing marks.....fab!

Fabulous, John. Love the colours and the composition is beautiful and tranquil.

Love the way you have the waves lapping on the shore, brilliant.

En plein air pastel. Size 9x7 inches. Painted a couple of oils from this sketch. At the end of that dark high tide line the beach drops off steeply. Painting away I was startled when a couple of heads came up over the ridge.
