Fields of Flowers.

Lovely composition John.

I like how you have painted this John , using you artist license and leaving the canes out I think has made it less complicated.

Very nice indeed

Good recession in your flowers John. I once knew a man that grew chrysanthemums and he had them all staked with a cane, then later enclosed the flowers with paper bags - don’t know if this was to protect the blooms as he put them in flower shows or to catch the seed.

Lovely painting John.

Such a wonderful sight t behold John.

Thank you Kal, Paul, Heather, Brian, Carole. It might be to keep the earwigs out Frank. Your comments are very much appreciated.

Beautifully done John, very vibrant. Love the cottage in the background. The canes would have spoiled the painting losing the fluency in your painting.

This works really well John. I love yellow flowers but not always easy to get them a natural colour which you have achieved well. My hubby grows dahlias for showing and says the paper bags (grease proof) are to protect against damage and water marks if it rains.

Thank you Mary, and Tessa. Yes that solves it Tessa, protection from damage. Appreciated, thank you.

Lovely vibrant painting.

Really like this John, great sky and I like the way you've done the flowers.

Make several visits to a Market Garden Nursery with fields of Chrysanthemums. I suggested the flowers rather than putting in details. Also they used canes to uphold the blooms but I left them out as it did not work for the over all look of the painting. Oil on canvas board. Size 10x8 inches.
