I used a mixture of soft pastels, pastel pencils and sprayed fixative over a few times to gain a tooth hold so to speak. I even used some poster paint when for some reason the fixative did not hold the pastel anymore (something I'm still finding out about) and used that as a base for more pastels. The would be owner of this picture has not seen it yet so SSSH! for now.
