Go for it! This is a very competent painting of the rose. I particularly like the way you have caught the rain drops. The darker petal edges get a bit lost against the darker background but the effect is to make the rose come out of the paper towards one.

Dear Peter well that is beautiful and just love the water droplets love the color of velvet silk petals you have court perfect and the green done background really brings the rose forward to touch or even smell the sweetness. excellent and your first attempt too.

I fully agree with Cripsian and Rachel lovely painting, good back ground.

A beautiful painting Peter, the background, rose itself and the droplets, stunning.

Stunning, a gorgeous rose Peter. Lovely rich colours.

Thank for all the comments, I have four more to paint in this series, all Roses in my garden. Was worried about this painting as I have never used such dense reds before, the next flowers will be more delicate, hopefully.

Beautifully painted Peter.

Peter Dont try and be delicate this is superb . The reds are superb and water droplets great too. More of the same please.

Thank you for commenting on my rose, Peter, I think yours is superb, I love the water droplets.

Thanks for your kind comments, this picture mean a very lot to me. ave 3 more to complete.

Realy a very beautiful painting of a rose.

Hi Peter, just love this beautiful rose, missed it when it was posted, the colours are perfect. How are you getting on with the coloured pencils? do you still like them? Thank you for your comments on my two dogs, the drawing took me 7-8 hrs, the colour was only 5 as all the work has been done with the drawing, I am really liking the Inktense pencils still have problems with white. Igot a pack of three Derwent water brushes , they are a godsend for these pencils and the brushes are superb, no more pots of water needed. Bye for now.

My Floral exercise, first time I have ever painted Flowers, comments please. Bockingford Not 200lb - 23 x 20 cm. I didn't stretch the paper, but found that it still moved, will stretch next time to see if there is any difference.
