Very good unusual seascape, definately catches the eye, love your portrayal of the waves

Gosh - the rolling sea for sure. Pass the sick bag - not a good sailor I'm afraid. Great painting which captures the power of the ocean.

I live on the Hebrides I go across to the mainland on a ferry occasionally, I always love it, this portrays the feeling just great, I love the detail in the white frothy waves. I have tried to capture this in one I did in abstract mixed media.

Quite exceptional and the angle works so well - the rough surface of the sea and the precise sides of the ship really complement each other

Superb painting. The sea is very well painted. Your perspective is spot on. I can almost feel the sea spray against my face.

Talk about bringing emotions to the surface......this reminds me of a days sailing with a friend, I was hanging on that tightly I daren't let go to get to my camera.....the photo would have looked something like this! Brilliant perspective and unique composition.

hi we have been on a cruiseship and been in a similar position ,and i think youve captured it very well, the perspective from the ships point is very good and the waves crashing up the side of the ship look very real , if you want to get some great images like this go on a cruise that takes you over the bay of biscay...well done

Thank you all for the great comments. Was really please with this picture, never used so much masking fluid and different colour blues before. Doubt if I'll post any more before Christmas, so hope you all have a great time.

bren hi l couldn't agree more with the above comments it great .

Wow I've spent a quite lot of time at sea - mainly in smaller vessels than that, so my natural reaction to a skewed horizon more excitement (or anxiety!) than nausea! As mentioned, I think that the perspective is superb. For me, the bow wave coupled with the perspective of the boat is masterful. The raising of the bow, so that vanishing points are just above the horizon,is subtle, but I think that it contributes almost as much to the dynamic as the skewed horizon. Not to mention your technique! Maybe one day...........

Took this photo whilst cruising in the Caribbean. Loved the way the horizon just happened to lay at an angle and was in line with the handrails. Changed it into a morning picture to try and give it more atmosphere. Bockingford not - 35 x 25 cm
