I like the middle one. Its perspective creates a more interesting shape for an apple if that makes sense. Good apples all round though!!!

Yes I agree with Gudrun that middle one is super, but then all 3 are, lovely work Peter

I agree with Gudrun and Ros - the middle one has a really interesting perspective, but I also like the tonal work for the bottom one.

Not the top one. tonally, it lacks the subtlety of the other two, and so does its shadow. I think the shadow is best in the middle apple, since it appears to pick up some of the reddish reflected light from the apple itself. As for the apple itself, for me the tonal modelling of the bottom apple makes it the winner, but I also like the shape and angle of the middle one. Thinking about the shadows - and I'm really not sure about this - I suspect that they are a bit distracting through being almost uniformly hard-edged. Depending upon the light source & how it falls, I think I might expect to see shadows with a crisp upper/further edge, but becoming softer or almost blurring out in the more shaded parts below the apple. Whatever, I think that these and your pear etc are excellent!

Thanks everyone for your comments, extremly helpfull, one thing is for certain is that the actual resultant composition of the fruit seams to have been pleasing to every one that has commented. The main issue is around the resultant shadows, this has taught me a lesson, thank you all again. In future I will work on this area more, it has certainly been a worthwhile exercise.
