Rebecca, Linda, Andy, Thanks for the comments. Hi Rebecca the drawing and painting was all done by freehand. Richard Bolton gives a series of photos at the end of his books for exercises, by reading the book in how he completes various work pieces, you have to try and complete these exercises with these methods and pallet combinations in mind. I don't try to copy his work now, but try and complete with my own style. I still use his subjects some times, only because they are quite challenging.

You have managed to get a lovely variety of textures and colours into these old buildings and milk churns. The grass and foliage is lovely as well. Great recession too - so all in all a really good painting.

Didn't realise it is one of yours when I clicked on it - and what a great job you have made of it. You have asked for comments (brave man) and all I can think of is that the distant buildings might benefit from just a tad more tone without compromising recession - very minor point

Love all the textures in this painting Peter; the soft grasses, the rusty churns and the dry brush texture on the wood and rusty roof.

Hi Peter :-) wow! no tracing, no copying, just all freehand.........i think you are very talented :-) you make each one of your paintings look like a photo :-)

I rather like it as it is. If you added anything anywhere you might not like the result as much as we like the present version.

Subtle and detailed as always, beautifully drawn milk churns and your grasses etc are always very well done. Havent seen Richard Bolton but this has your style

Thank you all for your comments, with regards to the background, purposely tried to keep it as simple as possible, was worried that to give it any real depth of colour or texture would have taken away from the main foreground features.

A lovely subject which you have depicted beautifully. The textures are excellent.

These paintings are amazing, love the way you create space and distance in this one Peter.

Really, really like this one, Peter. The varied textures, super placement of the hut and the recession really make this painting.
