The fruit came from the local supermarket, the Venetian glass from the local charity shop and the leaves are actually plastic from Ebay! but put together, composed & photographed for the painting I think I have got away with it. I had to work from the photo since it takes me so long to do these things that the grapes would have turned into raisins and the pomegranates would be green with mould by the time I had finished. The image here is a little darker than the actual painting – my camera isn’t good enough for indoor stuff like paintings (I must invest in something better) I have tried to get a realism that almost tempts the viwer into reaching out to touch the objects depicted. It is painted on a 40cm x 40cm stretched canvas using W & N Griffin Alkyd oils on an acrylic background for consistent colour across the work and is set in a simple white tray frame.
