Trevor, I think you should try everything - all that is lacking is a little more drama (more light mabye?) By the way, I have treated myself to a small starter set of Alkyd Oil. (will take on holiday to France if I think suitable). Best wishes Jeannette

That's how I started with alkyds - probably the same starter set - now built up into donzens of tubes- it's addictive - painting with it that is!!!

Alkyd oil oncanvas board - 18in x 14in - A rarity for me - my one and only landscape - had to try it out a few weeks ago to see if I could do it - think I'd better go back to what I can do!
