Good effect

And now for something completely different! While playing about on my computer I discovered some interesting effects which I could apply to a photo of a painting I completed some years ago. I was able to apply a tiled effect on the screen, then by squaring up and a lot of transfer work I got it on to the canvas – then came the nightmare – hour after hour of painting each individual “tile” to get the desired outcome. It is painted in Griffin Alkyd oilon a stretched canvas 60cm x 40 cm and set in a dark mahogany effect tray frame and was sold immediately. If I learned anything from tackling a work of this nature it is NEVER to do anything like it again – for the sake of my eyesight and sanity!
