I think the bluish colour you chose works well with the rest of the painting. I usually use more purple in shadows but I think you have got it right here.

Paul, I have enjoyed looking through your gallery. Thanks for the kind comment on my painting of Malta - much appreciated. I would be intrigued to see your photo. My painting was actually an amalgamation of several shots from both the beginning and end of out harbour cruise.

This was all about a strong shadow. I'd welcome any comments about the shadow itself. I couldn't decide whether the shadow should have a bias towards blue or purple or grey or something else. What colour(s) would you have painted the shadow?
